the early 1970's. Bill Simons (a retired IBM exec) invented a
wired system in 1972 and patented it in 1974. |

audience response system in the USA was developed and patented by Harry Durks, a Fleetwood
engineer. His first patent was in 1978. In fact, he still works for
Fleetwood and was the lead engineer for Reply IQ! (Harry's
